Prixtag Instant Price Check - This little app is indispensible on Black Friday. Use it to quickly check online prices while you are out shopping for gifts, so you’ll know if you should buy that gift in-store or save money by getting it online. More advanced than those Amazon search apps… Prixtag will search amazon, shopping.com, all yahoo! stores, buy.com, ebay and more all at once.

OneTrip Shopping List - This app has a very simple interface but is a huge lifesaver if you are forgetful like me. Instead of forgetting uncle Larry’s gift again this year… just add everyone’s name or gift idea to this list and check them off as you pick up gifts. You can also use it for daily grocery shopping, etc.

101Cookbooks - Not sure what to cook for all those distant relatives who will be visiting you this year? Install this app, and you will have more recipes than you need while you are scanning the aisles at your local supermarket. Turkey all sold out? No worries, you can look up a quick chicken or duck dish in an instant.

iPling - If you are out on your own and don’t plan on travelling or having any relatives over, then check out this app. A self-proclaimed ’social expansion engine’, iPling allows users to find others who share similar interests. Once you find that special someone, they also help you meet up in real-life after sending anonymous text messages.

Expense View - This little app isn’t as fun as the others, but after a long few weeks of spending and splurging… you’ll need this handy iPhone app to see how much money you have left over in case you wanted to get something for yourself. You even get a nice pie chart to analyze where all that money actually went.

Scrapblog lets you make super fancy slideshows (text, pictures and videos), think of it as a great way to showcase your photos, commemorate a special event (vacation, birthday). The Flash interface is pretty advanced, full screen with lots of drag and drop and preloaded options.

At the moment, you can upload your own pictures or import them from a number of services (Flickr, PhotoBucket, Yahoo! Photos, Webshots), videos only from YouTube.

I am really liking the transitions (you can even add music). It’s a bit slow to load and definitely time consuming but Scrapblog is a rather unique product. You can add notes on each page of a slideshow like the popular feature on Flickr and finally you can even embed slideshows directly into your blog or webpage.

I wanted to get some tickets to see ‘Wicked’ in LA and noticed that it is awfully expensive to get tickets to these kinds of sold out shows. However, this new web site makes it a bit easier to find the best deal if you are intent on getting tix. Besides listing all the current shows, concerts and sporting events, it also lets you compare prices and actual seats available from a few of the online ticket brokers pretty easily. Here’s a cool, new online shopping site with a twist. Instead of browsing and searching through boring listings and ads and looking at product images one-by-one, why not load up a page of a few hundred thumbnails? PicItOut.com does just that… just enter a search for something like “halloween costumes”, “gucci sunglasses”, or “crocs” and you will see up to 500 product image thumbnails appear. You can even zoom in and out on the pictures and compare prices by mousing over each one. Then, just click a thumbnail for details and to visit the online store that sells it. There is also a wish list feature, so your friends can see at a glance what you really want for your birthday. Pretty cool if you ask me.

This gadget is pretty cool, it is designed to keep a tab on DSL or Dialup internet times. I’m not a fond supporter of controlling your children with this, although I gather most people who buy this will use it for that. The more useful side is that the WebGuard can block out and inbound calls at specific times, this could be very useful for protecting a small office system at night for example. It can be programmed for the weekdays and weekends separately and easily so it gives you some flexibility as well.

When I’m on the road, I would love to have access to my office PC.
